March/April 2022: FrontLine Service

The Tiny Kitchen Bakeshop featured organization for the March/April campaign is FrontLine Service, an organization which takes a proactive approach to the mental health needs of our community. While organizations like FrontLine Service are deserving of support each and every month, it felt especially meaningful on a personal level to launch this campaign now because this month marks the one-year anniversary of me seeking help for my own mental health issues. I was very blessed to have an amazing and supportive family and group of friends to ensure I stayed safe before I was ready to seek help who then stood by me throughout the process, as well as the financial stability to obtain the services that I needed, but I know that is a privilege not known to all and one I will never take for granted.

The last couple of years have been hard on everyone, but even more so for those already facing homelessness, mental health conditions, drug and alcohol abuse/addiction and poverty. Mental health services are an area requiring ongoing improvement in our country and represents a massively underserved need within our communities.

FrontLine Service has been in operation since 1988 and provides a wealth of services for individuals and families facing homelessness, those dealing with mental and behavioral health issues and psychiatric crises, and adult and children victims of trauma. Relying on a foundation of trust, built through early and ongoing engagement with the high-risk community, FrontLine Service helps minimize some of the anticipated barriers to individuals seeking and then receiving the care that they need.

Over the next several weeks, we will be taking a closer look at the comprehensive approach of FrontLine Service and highlighting some of their individual programs. The profits of all TKB sales during the months of March and April 2022, as well as a percentage of the profits of two bakers participating in the Tiny Kitchens, Big Hearts Project March Bake/Make Sale, will be donated to FrontLine Service to support their ongoing initiatives and programs here in Northeast Ohio.

UPDATE: Together, we raised $1438.84 for FrontLine Service! Thank you to everyone who placed orders and shopped the TKB Pop-Up Bakeshops in March + April. I hope you all enjoyed learning more about this organization and the critical programs and services they offer within our community. If you missed any of it, please check out the FrontLine Service highlight story on the TKB Instagram account. Mental health is so so so important, and I hope this campaign also served as a reminder to check in with yourself and those around you. It’s been a rough few years and everyone responds to things different. It’s easy to look at someone and think we understand what is going on, but the truth is we all carry a story with us and it’s often more complicated than you think. Be kind and patient with others and yourself. Thank you to the amazing and caring staff at FrontLine Service for everything you do for those in need in our community and for your enthusiasm and engagement in this campaign.
